The Gospel With-ness of Effective Ministry in the City by Todd Stout

Evangelism is a key component in any attempt to grow a church or community of people. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has developed multiple types of evangelism tactics for different target audiences and regions. This video specifically discusses evangelism tactics for urban centers like New York City, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, and countless other cities in the United States. Watch this video to get a better understanding of areas the Seventh-day Adventist church has had some difficulty within terms of spreading the gospel in cities and see ways how you too can minister in cities. Watch the video here.

Intentionality and Baptisms by Wanda Lugo

Evangelizing someone is not something that comes naturally to some people. However, God tells us to be intentional when making disciples and baptizing them. In this presentation, Wanda Lugo, an Elder at Roca Eterna Mission Church in Cleveland, shares from personal experience some ideas on how to intentionally influence somebody to accept Jesus as their Savior through baptism. Watch the video here.

Three Stories About Baptisms and Life Changes by Matt Stockdale

We can say that Matt Stockdale, a full-time attorney, and a volunteer lay pastor, is a professional storyteller. He encourages and inspires those sowing or harvesting whatever God brings to them. In this video from the eHuddle 2022, Matt shares three stories about decisions, baptisms, and life changes. Watch the video here.

Dealing with Objections to Baptism by Roger Hernandez

When we think about baptisms and the objections that people in the church have to other people getting baptized, the best explanation is usually the most simple. In this video, Roger Hernandez presents four principles taken from the Bible on how to approach this problem. Watch the video here.

Roger Hernandez is the Ministerial & Evangelism Director of the Southern Union Conference

Let God’s Word Speak by John Boston

In this video from the eHuddle 2022, John Boston presents something critically important when dealing with objections to baptism. Boston says that the first thing pastors have to do when dealing with someone objecting to baptism is to make sure they connect the objectors with the voice of God and not with their voice or their strategies, plans, and antics. The Holy Spirit works when pastors call people into an abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. Watch the video here.

Objections and Obstacles to Baptisms by Elizabeth Talbot

In this video from the 2022 eHuddle, Elizabeth Talbot analyzes biblical passages on the important topic of objections and obstacles to baptism. In her presentation, she ponders the question, "Who are we to hinder God's way when somebody shows the desire to be baptized?" Watch the video here.

Am I a Stepping Stone or a Stumbling Block by Richie Halversen

In this presentation, Richie Halversen discusses overcoming obstacles and objections to baptism. As you read the book of Acts, you quickly pick up on a pattern - when Christ is lifted up, people start showing up, and the baptistery starts filling up. In every chapter, there are baptisms. Acts 2:47 says, "Each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved." But if we're honest, if it were up to some of us, or the lengthy procedure we put some people through for baptism, Pentecost would never have happened. Watch the video here.

Creating the Right Environment for Decisions by Rubens Rios

In this video from eHuddle 2022, Rubens Rios compares a grocery store's customer service with the visitors' experience in the church. He asks, how would your church's visitors score your church? From the moment they drive into the parking lot to stepping into the sanctuary. What would be the evaluation score for the worship experience, the preaching, and the welcoming, and what would it be like to create the right environment and experience a culture that captivates people, causing them to return week after week? Watch the full video here.

Making Jesus-Centered Appeals by David Klinedinst

In this presentation, David Klinedinst answers the question: "How can I help people have a life-changing experience through my appeals? How can I bring people to decide for Christ by the end of an evangelistic series?" In this video, Klinedinst shares some crucial points that will help pastors feel more confident as they prepare to make appeals.

Appeals That Lead to Decisions by Carlton Byrd

In this video from eHuddle 2022, Carlton Byrd talks about presentations and appeals that lead to decisions. He says that a sermon can be homiletical correct, theologically stimulating, and emotionally inspiring, but it is the appeal at the end of that sermon that leads people to decide for Jesus Christ. Byrd shares five points to help pastors succeed as they make appeals and lead people to surrender their lives to Jesus.

Identifying Your Church’s Patterns and Establishing a Culture of Baptism by Alex Barrientos

In this presentation from eHuddle 2022, Alex Barrientos suggests that you study your local church's patterns to establish a culture of baptism and disciple-making. What are the patterns? 1. How much do you give yearly? 2. What do you do when you have discussions on the board? 3. Is the board talking more about projects or is it talking about making connections with people outside of its structure? Learning about what your local church does in terms of patterns and identifying its problems and strengths will help it to develop a plan to create a culture of baptizing and making disciples. Watch the video here.

Alex Barrientos is the Senior Pastor for the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist

Creating a Culture of Baptism in the Local Church by Debleaire Snell

In this video, Debleaire Snell talks about three biblical principles and shares from his own experience some things that have helped him to create a culture of baptism in the local church context. Creating a baptism culture is cumulative work. It is not something that is done overnight. It's not the result of one presentation or the work of one seminar. It results from functioning like a steady drip that wears a hole within the most hardened surface. Would you like to know more? Watch the video here.

Change Your Church Culture with These Baby Steps by Jacob Serns

In this presentation, Jacob Serns shares a few things he has learned and that he has done to help shift churches to an evangelism culture. He talks about five baby steps to enable change. These steps do not require a lot of financial resources or a large church, but they will be specifically helpful in any situation and any church.

In this video from the eHuddle 2022, Jose Cortes Jr. presents the North American Division's definition of evangelism: Reach, Reclaim, and Retain the people of North America with Jesus' Mission and Message of Compassion, Hope, and Wholeness. He also talks about the Six Actions of Evangelism for the Adventist Church in North America - love, serve, baptize, equip, plant, and revitalize. The Definition and Six Actions of Evangelism were created by the North American Division Ministerial Association in collaboration with thousands of pastors, members, and church leaders across North America. Watch the video here.

Connection Points by Errol McClean

In this presentation, Errol McClean explains that evangelism is a process. McClean describes how his church created connection points with their community leading people to evangelism and baptisms. Connection points can be anything that create opportunities for community engagement. A preschool, a community Pathfinder Club, prayer walks, youth ministry outreach, special community events, and street ministry outreach are all connection points that allow the church members to engage with their community. Watch the video here.

Assessing Community's Need for Church Growth and Evangelism by Austin Humphreys

This presentation from the Pastor Evangelists Boot Camp is to the pastors wondering, "Is my church going to grow?". Austin Humphreys presents a staggering stat that 92% of pastors don't know their community. Most pastors think to themselves, "I can't wait to evangelize this city. I can't wait to blow this up, do this and do that." But they don't realize that God is calling them to change their local community right where they are. Pastors need to learn to change the block before they can handle the city. They must first assess their community's need to grow and move toward greater with their church and evangelism. Watch this video here.

Austin Humphreys is the Senior Pastor of Murphysboro in North Carolina.

A Forgotten Mission Field by Claudio Consuegra

The gospel commission tells us, "Go to all the people of all nations and make them my disciples." Since 1874, when John Evans boarded the first Seventh-day Adventist missionary boat that took him to Europe, Seventh-day Adventist missionaries have been going to the mission land. We have missionaries in more than two hundred and seven countries and territories around the world. Hundreds or maybe thousands of people have gone around the world since 1874, following the command of Jesus to go into all the world. And while we continue to go or wish we could go to a mission field, we have forgotten another mission field. To know more, click to watch the video here.
