PLANT
Multiply community-based churches
Become a church planting movement again (increase church plants by 6% per year, Goal: 1 church per 25,000 population in NAD)
Emphasis on community church plants (DNA of grace and service, not transplanting of members and churches which can be harmful to the growth process)
Multi-site model (one church in several campuses)
Adopt Volunteer Lay Pastor model (either to plant churches or to pastor smaller churches, which would free up the budget for full-time pastors to plant churches)
Equip pastors in Church Planting prior to ordination
Include and strengthen Church Planting in the curriculums of Religion departments and the Seminary and North American Division Evangelism Institute
Appoint a Church Planting Director/Coordinator at the Conference/Union to support church planting in North America?
Create tool (metrics) to follow up on survival rate of newly planted churches (first five years?)
Launch Urban Centers of Influence in 58 largest cities/conglomerates of people with over 1 million population
Objectives
What if…
…each Conference to studied its territory and identified unreached areas of 25,000 inhabitants without Adventist presence (remote villages and islands would have smaller population)
…each Pastor and church, with a congregation of more than 200 members, would pray, envision, and consider the possibilities of planting a daughter church.
…each new mission group would make an effort to reach demographics that established churches are not presently reaching (who are these groups?)
… local Conferences would expand church planting by calling and empowering Volunteer Lay Pastors to lead in the planting of new mission groups (as needed by Conferences).
